Marlborough B (3) v Swindon (1) October 4, 2008 |
| Marlborough B played excellent possession hockey as they secured their
first win of the season against Swindon B. This was a strong performance
from an experienced team but with significant contributions from young
Alex Wycherley and Matty Osborne making their home league debuts. Marlborough were dominant in the first half scoring twice with goals from Dave Osborne and the second from Rupert Naylor following a move which went the full length of the pitch. Swindon got a goal early in the second half against the run of play . However the result was guaranteed following a clinical strike from Stephen Bishop who rounded the keeper before striking into an empty net from an acute angle. |
