In
accordance with its Constitution and Equity Policy,
Marlborough Hockey Club operates an open membership policy.
The Club also operates within the guidelines of an effective
Child Protection Policy.
All of these policies are available upon request from the Club Secretary.
Useful Information
Coaching
All lead coaches have passed or are working towards the Hockey Association
Level 1 or 2 coaching.
Training for the age group 7 (younger if approved by coaches) through to
11 is held on Sunday mornings from 09:00 until 10.00. Training for the
age group 12 to 15 is held on Sunday mornings from 10:30 until 12.00.
All junior coaching is held at the Marlborough College astro-turf pitches.
Subscriptions / Insurance
Junior membership costs just £45 (1st child), £30 (2nd child)
and £25 (3rd child). This one off annual payment includes all coaching
sessions and entry to all competitions. Club insurance only covers third
party injury. Please contact the Club for advice on insurance.Key

Parents / Carers will be kept informed
of club activities and training matters via e-mail,
if you have any queries please contact the Junior
Coordinator or your child’s team manager by
phone or e-mail. Any issues relating to child welfare,
poor practice or child abuse should be reported immediately
to the Club Junior Coordinator or the Club Junior
Manager. All matters will be dealt with in the strictest
of confidence.

Club
Rules
As a member of Marlborough Hockey Club you are expected to adhere to the
following junior rules:
• All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their
decisions.
• All members must respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants
regardless of gender, ability, cultural background or religion.
• Never use bad language while training or competing.
• Always tell your coach if you have an injury or feel unwell.
• Members should keep to agreed timings for training and competitions or
inform their coach or team manager if they are going to be late.
• If you have to leave a training session / competition early, make sure
that you have told your coach or team manager.
• Members must wear suitable kit – including shin pads and gum shields – for
training sessions and matches, as agreed with the coach/team manager.
• Members must pay any fees for training or events promptly.
• Junior members are not allowed to smoke on club premises or whilst representing
the club at competitions.
• Junior members are not allowed to consume alcohol or drugs of any kind
on the club premises or whilst representing the club.
Code of Conduct – Parents / Spectators
Marlborough Hockey Club request that all parents adhere to the following
code:
• Encourage your child to learn the rules and play within them.
• Discourage unfair play and arguing with officials.
• Help your child to recognise good performance, not just results.
• Never force your child to take part in sport.
• Set a good example by recognising fair play and applauding good performances
of all.
• Never punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
• Publicly accept officials' judgements.
• Support your child's involvement and help them to enjoy their sport.
• Use correct and proper language at all times.
• Encourage and guide participants to accept responsibility for their own
performance and behaviour.
Kit
Club Playing Strip – dark green shirts, navy or black shorts, dark
green socks – shirts are provided for matches and tournaments. Shirts
and socks are available to order from the Junior Coordinator

All Junior Training takes place on a Sunday morning:
Beginners, Feeder Group, U11 boys, U11 girls – All 09:00 – 10:00
U13 boys, U14/15 boys – bottom pitch 10:30 – 12:00
U13 girls, U14/15 girls – top pitch 10:30 – 12:00
